1968 Dodge Charger - By 1968, the Dodge Charger was accounting for roughly 16 percent of all Dodge car sales. Projected sales for 1968 were 35,000 units, but that was quickly eclipsed and the Hamtramck, Michigan, plant couldn’t keep up with the demand. Dodge had to triple production in Michigan and also add a Charger production line to its St. Louis plant to fill the orders. When it was all said and done, final sales in 1968 came out to 96,100, an increase in sales of 80,312 units over a dismal 15,788 units sold in 1967.
